Immunization & Vaccination

Protecting every newborn, every child, every family — because the first weeks of life are when protection matters most.

Why It Matters

The First 1,000 Days Come First

In Kilifi, many newborns and infants miss critical vaccines because the nearest immunization point is too far, too costly, or has no cold-chain storage. Newborns and infants are our highest priority, followed by continued coverage through childhood, with adult immunization offered alongside.

One on One. Complete Health. Disease Prevention. In Africa.

1. Newborns & Infants — full KEPI schedule from birth

2. Children  — catch-up doses and boosters

3. Adults — tetanus, Hepatitis B, influenza, HPV

Our Goals for This Pillar

Ensure every newborn receives their first protective doses within the critical early window

Complete full multi-dose vaccine schedules through defaulter tracing and caregiver reminders

Maintain reliable cold-chain storage so no dose is wasted

Educate caregivers so families understand the value of every vaccination

How the Program Works

From Cold Chain to Caregiver Education

Cold-Chain Storage

Vaccine refrigeration and monitoring so every dose stays safe until it reaches a child.

Defaulter Tracing

We follow up with families who miss a scheduled dose so multi-dose vaccines are completed.

Trained Nurses & CHWs

Immunization delivered by trained nurses and community health workers who know the families.

Caregiver Education

Mothers and fathers learn the full vaccination schedule and why each dose matters.

Mobile Outreach

We bring immunization to villages too far from a fixed clinic to reach easily.

Digital Record-Keeping

Every child's vaccination history is tracked so no dose and no child is lost to follow-up.
